NORTH CRAWFORD ELEMENTARY AND JUNIOR SCHOOL PROFILES
K-8 Profile
- Students have a developmental guidance class bi-monthly.
- The Wisconsin Knowledge and Concept Exam
(WKCE) is administered to
3rd and 8th grade students.
Composite scores for all groups consistently score above the state average for advanced and proficient levels.
- All students may participate in the federally sponsored breakfast and/or lunch program.
- A homework help night meets on Monday and Thursday from 3:30-5:00 for 2nd-8th grade students.

- Our staff is encouraged to attend workshops and meetings to enhance instruction.
Primary, 4K-3rd Grade
- A pre-school screening is held each year in February. This enables the school to learn about our future students. The children's skills and school readiness are assessed.
- We are a SAGE school. The Student Achievement Guarantee in Education
(SAGE) program is a voluntary program where schools, in exchange for maintaining a 15:1 student to teacher ratio in grades 5K-3, receive additional
funding based upon free and reduced meals.
- Students are eligible and may receive enhanced Title 1instruction assistance in reading and math.
- The 4K program has two all day sections, meeting on Monday-Wednesday and Tuesday-Thursday. On Fridays, the teacher schedules visits to the student's home and offers a 3-5 year old Playgroup held at the school.
Intermediate, 4th-6th Grade
- Students are eligible and may receive enhanced Title 1instruction assistance in reading and math.
- Instrumental music instruction begins in 5th grade.
- The 6th graders attend a three day outdoor environmental education program at
Badger Camp each spring.
- Co-curricular activities for 6th graders include some JH athletic participation.
- Students may be selected to participate in co-curricular drama productions
- In 2004 our staff and 4th grade students were given the
New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition Award.
- In September 2006 North Crawford
High received the
New Wisconsin Promise Recognition Award.
To be recognized, schools must be eligible to receive federal Title I funding
and be among the highest poverty schools in the state based on free and reduced-price school lunch data.

Additionally, student achievement must be above the state average for similar schools in both
reading and mathematics, based on statewide assessments, and the school must have made
adequate yearly progress for the past two years.
Junior High, 7th and 8th Grade
- Exploratory classes included, Spanish, technology education, art and keyboarding.
- Elective classes include instrumental and vocal music.
- Students may participate in co-curricular athletics and drama productions.
- 8th grade students history experience an on campus, overnight Civil War Camp re-enactment.
