Read Across America
The Cat-in-the-Hat reader, retired teacher, Barb Frammelt, from Prairie du Chien visited to read to pre-kindergarten through second grade students.	We had a birthday party for the Cat-in-the-Hat, and called it "Treats and Tricks at 2:36." Here we have the Cat, Thing 1, and Thing 2 performing a few tricks and antics.
Battle of the Books
Just before spring, the fourth and fifth grade students hosted De Soto School for a battle. The students competed in three rounds, answering questions about the 20 books for Battle of the Books.
Folk Week
Soldiers Grove librarian, Cele Wolf reads Blue Bowl Down to an elementary classroom in celebration of the folk dancing week.	School nurse, Emily Mar-Devitt, spoke with first and fourth grade students about the Chinese culture during Folk Week. She also taught the students some simple origami.
To connect folk dancing to literature, Gesa Ott is reading a folktale to upper elementary students. Gesa is one of the parent/community volunteers that have read to children this year.
