Local Scholarships
Scholarship Instruction Sheet
- Read all of the instructions first! This will hopefully save you some time
- Fill in the scholarship application page . You only need to fill this out one time. We will make copies of it for each scholarship. Filling it out means typing it!
- Read over the list of the scholarships available on the disk. Find the ones that you qualify for. There will be several of them, so fill out as many as possible.
- Write the essays that go with the individual scholarships.
- PROOFREAD EVERYTHING
- Make sure everything that you turn in is typed.
- Make sure anything that needs to be signed by you or your parents is signed before you hand your scholarships in.
- Make sure everything is printed and in order and hand them into Mrs. Day.
- The deadline for the scholarships to be handed in is January 4th, however, if you get them done early, then feel free to hand them in early.
- The scholarships are your responsibility. I will not hound you about them. The more scholarships that you apply for the more likely you are to receive some free money.
2008 Local Scholarships
Seniors;
The following local scholarships are available to 2008 graduates.
Please read the qualifications carefully and complete the applications as soon as possible. Unless otherwise noted all scholarships are due back to Mrs. Day by Friday, January 4th. The general requirement for all scholarships is admission to school beyond high school.
Note: At this time this list is tentative, as some of these scholarships may not be available. The scholarship applications are also available on disk as a Microsoft Word file for those students who would like to work on them directly from disk.

- North Crawford Trojan Scholarships:
Technical school or college, essay on extra-curricular participation of student.
- Nuzum Scholarships:
Requirements: Continuing education at a Wisconsin University System college.
- North Crawford Community Scholarship: Requirements:
Continuing education at a technical school or college. Essay on the role of education in your life.
- North Crawford Education Association Scholarship:
Requirements: Preference for this scholarship(s) will go to a person(s) entering the field of education with lesser scholarships to other deserving students. Complete an essay on how you have helped others learn.
- Community of Christ Scholarship:
One scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a career in a helping profession.
- Graduating Senior Fine Arts Scholarship:
Student who has demonstrated proficiency in the area fine arts
- Pace Club Deserving Senior Award:
Requirements: Deserving Senior planning to attend technical school or college.
- Bullet Bob Peterson Scholarship:
Throughout his life Bullet Peterson was interested in scholarship, love of learning as helping students who would be involved in the fields of art and or communications. This scholarship will go to the student who best represents promise in these areas.
- Dr. William A. Sannes Scholarship:
Requirements: Technical school or college enrolled in a medical field.
- Gays Mills Lions:
Requirements: Technical school or college essay on extra-curricular participation of student.
- Soldiers Grove Lions:
Requirements: Technical school or college essay on extra-curricular participation of student.
- Hubert and Mildred Freeman Scholarship:
This scholarship has been established by Hubert and Mildred Freeman for a North Crawford High School student.
- Grace Fleming Reinhold Scholarship:
Student must be continuing education at a public or private university in the Midwest. Based on financial need.
- Masonic Lodge Scholarship:
Requirements: Technical school or college, essay on "Most Significant High School Experience" .
- Rodney Saegrove Scholarship:
Given in memory of Rodney Saegrove. Must be accepted to a two or four year school and a member of the Mount Sterling Lutheran Church.
- Gays Mills American Legion Scholarship:
Open to any student who is going to be continuing their education beyond high school.
- Gays Mills American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship:
Open to any student who is going to be continuing their education beyond high school.
- Soldiers Grove American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship:
Open to any student who is going to be continuing their education beyond high school.
- Soldiers Grove American Legion Scholarship:
Open to any student who is going to be continuing their education beyond high school.
- Carl and Malla Ofstun Scholarship:
Given to a student who plans to pursue a career in the field of music or art education. Based on a statement concerning their interest in pursuing a career in art or music education and demonstration of talent and academic potential.
- Merlin and Ona Dregne Family Farm Memorial Scholarship:
Student must come from a working family farm and be pursuing a post-secondary education.
