Weather Related Cancellations, Delays, or Early Dismissals

When snow or ice causes transportation difficulties, three possible situations might exist: school may be cancelled completely, school may start two hours late (no ECH classes), or school may be dismissed early. For late start or cancellation of school, every effort will be made to have the announcement on the radio stations by 6:30 a.m. Announcements will be run on the following radio stations:

WRCO - Richland Center - 100.9 FM - 1450 AM

WIZM - Z93 La Crosse - 93.3 FM - 1410 AM

WKTY - 580 AM

WRQT - 95.7 FM

KCLH - 94.7 FM

WXOX TV 19 - La Crosse

We ask for your cooperation by not calling the radio stations or the school office about the possibility of school cancellations. Things can be very hectic at these sites. Since changes in school schedules are the hottest news of the day, they tend to be repeated quite often on the radio. If there is an early dismissal of school, a decision will be made for the safest possible time to transport students home and the announcement should be on the radio stations shortly thereafter. Parents may want to have a plan if there would be a problem with sending students home because of an early dismissal. We would appreciate it if you would advise the student's teacher(s) of any alternative plans on those days when there may be an early dismissal due to inclement weather. Having a plan before the snow flies will help us all to enjoy a safer Wisconsin winter!
